Every load starts with a specific plan.
No two specialist movements are identical. Before dispatch, we review the load, vehicle, collection and delivery access, proposed route, timing and any known restrictions. Dimensions and weight must be confirmed accurately so the correct equipment and movement requirements can be identified.
Route planning
Wide, long and abnormal loads are assessed individually. We consider restricted access, low structures, weak bridges, road widths, turning space and delivery-site constraints. Where a movement requires additional checks or notice, these are identified before travel.
Load security
The securing method is selected for the load and vehicle. Condition, weight distribution, restraint points and loading or unloading arrangements are checked as part of the job plan. Safe cooperation between the customer, loading team and driver is essential.
Notifications and coordination
Where applicable, abnormal-load movements are coordinated with the relevant police, highway and bridge authorities. Remi Haulage holds police dispensations for most UK routes for loads up to 3.5 metres wide; individual movement requirements still depend on the load and route.
Insurance and authorisations
Insurance requirements, declared load value and the authorisations applicable to a movement are confirmed before work is accepted. Customers may request current evidence of relevant cover and operator documentation, including applicable limits and terms, before booking.
Conditions of carriage
Goods are accepted for carriage and sub-contracted subject to RHA Conditions of Carriage 2026. A copy is available free of charge on request.
Important: This page provides a general overview. The requirements for a particular movement are confirmed from the actual dimensions, weight, route, vehicle and site conditions.
